THE TOWER SHONAN TSUJIDO
THE TOWER
SHONAN TSUJIDO
Shaping a New Gateway to Shonan
— Designed for the People Who Live There
At the south exit of Tsujido Station, a gentle streetscape unfolds toward the sea. Yet the area in front of the station—marked by a narrow rotary and aging commercial buildings—was gradually losing the distinct identity that once defined Tsujido.
We set out to thoughtfully reconsider what a human-scale gateway to Shonan should be. Through ongoing dialogue with local authorities and community members, and over the course of many years, we carefully envisioned a future rooted in people-first design.
The result is a revitalized station-front environment centered on openness and connectivity: a welcoming public plaza that brings breathing space to the area; a pedestrian deck that seamlessly links the town in three dimensions; and a continuous line of vibrant retail extending toward the southern road, creating energy and movement throughout the district.
We sincerely hope that this initiative will foster a sense of continuity and vitality between the north and south sides of the station—contributing to the broader revitalization of the community and becoming a source of pride for those who call Shonan Tsujido home.
A New Expression of Shonan Living
— Where Diverse Lifestyles Thrive
For generations, life in Shonan has symbolized a relaxed rhythm—embracing the sea, nature, and a slower pace of time.
Today, however, the rise of remote work and the diversification of lifestyles have reshaped expectations. There is a growing desire for a way of living that harmonizes urban convenience with the richness of nature.
THE TOWER Shonan Tsujido was conceived in response to this changing era—realizing a new model of residential living. Within daily life enriched by the sea breeze, natural light, and open skies, it creates a sense of tranquility and abundance, while fostering spaces where people can connect comfortably and authentically.
It welcomes those who move fluidly between central Tokyo and Shonan, families who cherish time by the sea, and individuals seeking a lifestyle that reflects their own values. Here, diverse perspectives coexist, intersect, and inspire one another.
As these varied lives converge, a new community begins to take shape—giving rise to fresh culture and meaningful connections.
This dynamic cycle of living, interaction, and growth embodies the vision we have infused into this development.
Connecting City and Sea
— A New Landmark for Shonan Tsujido
An expanse of blue sky and ocean. A gentle coastal breeze.
In front of the station, Terrace Mall Shonan anchors a vibrant district supported by quality education, healthcare, and public parks—making Tsujido one of Shonan’s most sought-after addresses, where nature and urban functionality coexist in harmony.
While immersed in the richness of the natural environment, residents also enjoy seamless access to Yokohama and central Tokyo. A newly constructed pedestrian deck directly connects the station to the residence entrance, enhancing both convenience and walkability.
At the heart of this evolving district rises a new symbol of Shonan living:
a 29-story tower residence reaching approximately 99 meters in height, comprising 196 residences and 11 retail units—located just a two-minute walk from the station with direct connectivity.
The pedestrian deck creates a fluid transition between transportation hub and home, offering a lifestyle where the sea breeze and urban convenience exist side by side.
This landmark tower stands as a new emblem of balance—uniting city energy with coastal serenity.
A Design That Breathes
with the Spirit of Shonan
This architecture was conceived in harmony with the climate, culture, and character of Shonan—quietly present, naturally integrated, and respectful of its surroundings.
The tower, created as a symbol of this vision, avoids excessive expression. Instead, it embraces transparency that blends with the surrounding environment and carefully composed minimalist details that appear to frame the sky itself. The design is understated yet refined—balancing Shonan’s natural warmth with a contemporary sensibility.
The exterior and entrance design supervision for this project was led by internationally renowned Glamorous Designer Yasumichi Morita.
Through this collaboration, the tower has been realized as a new landmark that quietly breathes with the future of Shonan—an enduring symbol of elegance, restraint, and place.
A Landmark Defined
by Timeless Exterior Beauty
A tower form distinguished by its sense of transparency rises gracefully into the sky, while earth-toned textured tiles ground the architecture in warmth and material depth.
This refined balance allows the building to harmonize with the surrounding streetscape, creating an enduring presence that transcends time.
An Entrance Designed to Welcome
The arrival experience unfolds through a composition of natural wood, a tranquil reflecting pool, and a sculptural spiral staircase—creating a space that is both inviting and dignified.
The interior is curated under the supervision of Cassina, where sophisticated craftsmanship and refined functionality come together to express a seamless balance of beauty and purpose.
